First Contact – Headache in Primary Care
Virtual Event
Tailored specifically for family physicians, internists, OB/GYNs, pediatricians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, and other allied healthcare professionals, the First Contact program offers curated resources and expert-led training to improve patient outcomes in headache medicine. Specialized in-person and virtual presentations are available.
Mastering Migraine Therapies
Virtual Event
Available virtually, the MMT program centers around pre-recorded lectures on the latest advancements in acute migraine treatment, prevention, diagnosis, behavioral enhancements, neuromodulation, and pediatric migraine. Live Q&A sessions with experts in headache medicine are available for additional CME credit.
Headache Medicine Training Programs
Resident Education Program
The Resident Education Program aims to inspire a greater number of junior neurology trainees to consider pursuing careers in Headache Medicine. Participants will engage with leaders in the field through interactive sessions and social events.
REACH
Virtual Event
Hosted at institutions all over the nation, the REACH program aims to increase the profile of headache medicine as a subspecialty, educate residents and other trainees in the most common reason patients see neurologists, and inspire a greater number of trainees and faculty members to become educators and serve patients with headache and related pain disorders.
International Headache Academy
The IHA is designed to inspire a long-term commitment to headache medicine in young neurologists and research scientists through an educational program focusing on clinical and research aspects of the field. Participants will be introduced to multiple opportunities in the field of Headache Medicine.
Leadership Training Programs
Leadership in Advocacy Development
The LEAD program aims to provide training, tools, mentorship, and support for mid-career healthcare professionals and physician advocacy leaders in Headache Medicine. Participants will explore new opportunities for professional development with leaders in the field and develop an advocacy project.
Emerging Leaders Program
Established in 2016, the Emerging Leaders program aims to encourage early-career medical professionals to enter and thrive not only in the field of Headache Medicine but also within the Society. Participants will engage with mentors in the field and complete a project for presentation to the AHS Board of Directors.
