New Migraine Drugs On The Horizon
There are exciting advancements on the horizon in the area of treating and preventing migraine headaches. In the U.S. a host of new drugs are in the final stages of approval and testing. Professor of neurology at the University of California, San FranciscoDr. Peter Goadsby says this is good news. Goadsby said: “What’s really exciting about this is that until this development, we have not had a migraine-specific preventive at all.” Goadsby headed a research trial, on the new drugs, which are the first of this kind that will specifically benefits migraine patients. Goadsby headed the research trial reviewing the drugs and will present those findings over the weekend in Boston during the American Headache Society meeting.
